BIO OF NITA TIN

SPEAKER*AUTHOR*BIBLE TEACHER*COACH

Nita Tin was the cofounder and chief operations officer of Tin Laser Vision and the Aesthetic and Wellness Spa. She has held the role of Practice Administrator for her husband, Dr. Pe Than Tin’s ophthalmology practice for forty plus years. She is a graduate of the
University of Rangoon, Burma and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree, Cum Laude with Honors in English Literature and Language.

A former Buddhist, she is originally from Burma, currently known as Myanmar, and trusted the Lord Jesus as her Savior soon after she arrived in Chattanooga nearly fifty years ago. The dictatorship government not only penalized them as professionals
by forcing them to pay a K20000 monetary penalty and 5 years income tax in
advance but made them sign papers admitting that they were traitors to the
country of their birth. They disallowed them from taking any of their own jewelry,
savings or family photographs and gave them permission after a two year wait to
leave with their two young children with only $20.

Nita has been an avid motivational Christian speaker for more than forty-five years and has spoken at several churches in the Chattanooga, Alabama, and the North Georgia areas. She has shared her unique story at public schools, the lions’ clubs, Christian and Public Women’s groups, and has spoken at several churches in Sydney, Australia and in the Christian Church in Quormi, Malta.

She is a conference speaker and was a lead speaker at the National Young Women’s Christian Conference in Chattanooga. She spoke at a large ladies’ banquet in the North Georgia area in the aftermath of 9/11 where she was invited to give comfort and hope in the light of the terror and fear that gripped our country. She was also invited to speak at a combined All-Faith forum sponsored by a committee of the Muslim faith led by the Imam from a Knoxville congregation where an open discussion of faith was shared.

She has given her testimony at a Focus on the Family retreat with Dr James and
Shirley Dobson and the Focus family and has been on the radio for Moody (WMBW).
Through Precept Ministries teaching videos she was included in Janet Parshall's talk show In the Market on Moody Radio. She was the main speaker at a three-day ladies’ retreat for five Chattanooga and North Georgia churches held in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Nita gave several messages of learning to abide in Christ at a four-day training
conference of 1100 church planters in Kathmandu Nepal sponsored by The Timothy Initiative ministry and was invited to preach at a Nepalese Christian church. She was recently interviewed by Moody Radio Mornings with Taubi prior to sharing her message on Christ my Only Hope at a recent luncheon for working women hosted by the Scenic City Women’s Network.

She was chosen as one of four story tellers for The Platform at the Trilith movies and makers community in Fayetteville, GA and was also invited to give her testimony at the Studio Café at Trilith Studios (formerly Pinewood Studios) where Marvel movies are being filmed.

She has been a Bible Study Teacher and Discipleship Bible Study leader for more
than forty years, and wrote an inductive Bible Study guide, Acts: Empowered
to live for Jesus
and delivered the lectures on each lesson in weekly
classroom sessions.

She has written, directed, and acted the lead part in a motivational and
inspirational musical vignette for her church and written a dramatic soliloquy for Easter themes in which she plays the part of a Jewish believer at the foot of the cross.

Her memoir, titled Heartbeat of a Survivor: From Golden Pagodas to Land of Liberty in Search of Something More from which a film script A Love Without Borders has been written by one of the producers of One Nation Under God. It was officially chosen as one of the three film scripts for the 2023 Christian World View Film Festival and was
awarded 2nd place. A faith-based novel, it is currently with the
World Publishing and Production Company.

She was recently on a 2023 podcast for Women World Leaders and is scheduled in April  for another podcast titled Pain with Purpose produced by a filmmaker at Trilith.

She is starting on a book that chronicles her journey through her family’s pain and a Victorious God who held the pieces together – I Wish there was No Such Thing as Cancer! With the loss of her husband of 53 years, who was her
soulmate for 60 years, she is compiling notes for her next book The Love you Left Behind: Heartbreak of a Surviving Spouse.

Nita has contributed several articles to a devotional book titled The Promises of God published by the Scenic City Women’s Network.  Her column “Nita’s Nook” was featured in her
church’s monthly newsletters. and her prolific letters of encouragement and
heart-warming lectures pointing to God’s grace and mercy have ministered to hundreds of students, friends, colleagues, and patients.

In the months after she lost her two younger sisters thirteen months apart in January 2012 and February 2013, she began her ministry of the Faith, Hope, Love collection of jewelry. Each custom bead has been prayed for the wearer and is
chosen, designed and hand made by herself.

The journey to our eternal home is her theme and her message is hope, strength and
encouragement for a child of God traveling through the pain and hopelessness of a fallen world and God's offer of freedom and salvation for those who are still
trapped in sin's darkness.

Her life's verse is found in Jeremiah 33:3. I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you. God's unending love is what she pours out through her life and ministry as she seeks to draw believers closer to bask in the love of a heavenly Father.

She describes herself as an emptied, broken vessel, saved to tell of the glorious gospel of Christ.
